Lets be honest, these days you will enjoy around 6 weeks of glorious sunny weather where you can show off those legs and get a tan. BUT for the other 300 days a year you will be faced with everything from sideways torrential rain to sleet and snow on a cold Tuesday night training session. Here are the best bits of kit I have found to get me through the worst of it!
The Best Clothing We Found
Best Coaches Coat
Lets face it if its good enough for Norwegian fishermen then its good enough for football coaches. Built for the artic but perfect for the side lines I bought this coat 3 years ago and it has been fantastic. completely waterproof and windproof it has 3 layers so you can strip it down to just a rain coat or up for extra warmth.
- Pros – Extremely weather resistant. LOTS of pockets! Two way zip to free your legs for playing.
- Cons – More expensive than most but an investment.
Cheaper Option
For a cheaper coaches coat to keep warmer on chilly days then this one from Forza is a good option. Will not take the battering the HH one will but will take the edge off a frosty morning and water “resistant”
- Pros – Cheap, warm.
- Cons – Water will get in eventually. Short.
Best Winter Trousers
For the most brutally cold nights I break out these winterised Tiro trousers from Adidas. Fleece lined and with important pocket and ankle zips these are a great way of adding extra warmth without being too bulky to play.
